In
November and December 2003, SDRA purchased and installed forty
new 36-gallon Ironsite Victor Stanley trash receptacles along
Broughton Street between Price Street and Martin Luther King,
Jr. Boulevard (MLK). These receptacles replace the existing
wooden slat barrels that were rapidly deteriorating and unable
to sufficiently hold trash. The cost of the project was $30,000.
In
support of SDRA's efforts, the Department of Sanitation provided
five additional receptacles as a part of the "Just Dunk It"
campaign to meet the increase in trash generation along Broughton
Street. Additionally, the Downtown Business Association and
Keep Savannah Beautiful donated funding to offset the cost
of installing the new receptacles. |
